Like so many people who've met online, you've probably&nbsp;exchanged a ridiculous amount of messages that were probably riddled with laughing emojis, gifs and&nbsp;too many lol's. You've assumed you make each other laugh and have a cracking sense of humour. Well&nbsp;lets put that to the test in a comedy club. The environment suits a date, there's booze, a couple of&nbsp;breaks to get to know one another and dim lighting to get rid of all those self conscious anxieties that build up on a date. Aside from the set up, the actual action of laughing feels good, it releases nervous&nbsp;energy and tension so that you can be relaxed and open on a date. I don't know about you, but&nbsp;whenever anyone asks me what I want from a partner I always say "someone with a sense of humour,&nbsp;who can make me laugh". So my personal date ideas for London would all be about laughing. Anything for a laugh — with a possibly serious outcome. A gladiator style comedy night where 20 comedians go up on stage and try and survive 5 minutes whilst the audience have the power to vote them off.

Romantic restaurants and fancy bars dubbed with great jokes all in walking distance in this area of London.&nbsp;

<h4>And few extra honourable mentions for your date night in London:</h4><ul><li>Top Secret Comedy Club. Great comedy bills with TV names and affordable booze. Runs 7 nights a week, with shows scheduled from 6 till late.</li><li>Always Be Comedy. If you sign up to the mailing list, you can plan your date so it collides with the night your favourite acts are on.</li><li>The 99 club. Likely to recognise almost every act from off the tele, leaving your date starstruck.</li></ul>

<h4 style="margin-left:0.3535614013671875pt;">The comedians aren't funny? Saved your date: it's a reason to laugh.&nbsp;</h4>Even if in the worst case scenario you go to one of these nights and&nbsp;don't so much as crack a smile, then at least you'll have a story to tell. A unique experience shared&nbsp; between the two of you on that one night, that can never be replicated. You'll recall the time you both&nbsp;sat in silence and how awkward it was to watch a now famous Fiona Ridgewell die for 20&nbsp;minutes straight. I'm joking! The chances of me becoming famous are lower than your date&nbsp;turning into forever. Its-getting-hot-date</h4>There is limited terraced culture in London, but a great spot is Bella Vita, especially on a hot day. Perhaps you just came from the Lido after a swim, or you’re crawling into the park for a coffee because you're super hungover. Whatever the reason, a Caprese salad from Bella Vita is the perfect lunch date IMO. It's that unpretentious Italian that you deserve.&nbsp; Top tip: hit pre 3pm for direct sun and be aware of Broadway market being very busy on weekends.

For 24 hours fix at a date</h4>You've been clubbing with your date from Pure app, It's 4am and you're starving, where do you go? For Beigels ofc. Open 24 hours, I personally prefer cream cheese or peanut butter and gherkin (trust me) than the classic salt beef, and always recommend their cheesecake. But even just a sack of plain beigels to take and toast at home in the morning is a dream (only 30p a piece).&nbsp;You’ll come across interesting characters and the staff are notoriously (and IMO fabulously) rude — we love to see it. They even have an app for delivery if you can't head to the iconic space.&nbsp; Top tip: avoid their rival Beigel Shop!

Secret date place</h4>I can't quite believe I'm revealing this but Map Maison is my personal secret date place. It’s a strange location on an in-between part of kingsland road where there’s not much else about bar a tesco, Seventeen gallery and a few studios, but it's very close to Haggerston station (for accessibility). It has a Speakeasy vibe and is somewhere I know I wont bump into people, great for the privacy needed to getting to know someone new. Fancy and unique cocktails, and then if the date is going well then it's your place, or mine. Top tip: get Caribbean pasties from next door for your walk home.

Mini holiday date</h4>I can't gush about this small, unique restaurant-come-cafe enough. It's truly Magical, open only a few of the summer months a year. Time dependant, expect there to be a que and slow service but that’s all part of the charm. There's a limited menu, usually toasts with toppings and good coffee (not to go! Slow down, sit!) but they do what they do very well. Top tip: I recommend their cookbook endlessly.

Little treats date</h4>A little expensive but if you find yourself trotting down the canal after Towpath (see above) I’d suggest heading up to try their delicious sandwiches, my personal being a simple chicken mayo baguette that keeps drawing me back. Pick up lovely treats too (I stress treats here though, price point is notable) from desserts, flowers, great coffee, cheeses, meats, breads — anything you need to take home with you. There's often a seasonal display, always a que out the door but never too overcrowded, and draws a very friendly crowd. When i'm feeling jaded, it's a place that makes me happy that I live in London.

Every occasion date</h4>My most versatile recommendation — my local noodle shop. Perfect for multitude of occasions from late night noodle cravings, solemn or welcomed solo dining, takeaway or karaoke night. I love finding solace in a bowl of beef noodles, sharing gossip over their fried tripe (for the adventurous), and indulging in their cocktails. Also try: Salvation in noodles, Koya Ko, Song Que if this noodle bar is full.

Michelin Star date</h4>Their Unassuming entrance will transport you into a memorable fine dining experience. I adore the oppressive wooden decor. One of the 71 Michelin stars in London. Their bread with whipped butter and onion powder is my favorite thing on the menu, which isn’t a negative comment on the rest of the food but rather a testament to how delicious their bread is; I dream about it.

Boozy date</h4>This pub holds lots of memories for me, one of the first places I frequented when I moved here 5 years ago, and I feel lucky to be able to call it a local. A solid fave for a Sunday lunch Pure app date or evening in a proper east London boozer. I'm a bit of a Guinness snob and I know they pour a good one. Ask for a black velvet (Guinness and prosecco) to go with your beef and barley bun, share a pie on your date, and don't skip on their brown butter honey tart.

Pasta date</h4>I'm always jealous of people who are eating here even if I've just eaten. It's also one of the few places in London where I get no signal, a true rarity for me, so I enjoy the solitude and tuck into my wine. Avoid on a Sunday when the flower market is on unless you love big crowds, live music on the street, and people watching. If you and your date are into that, then embrace the chaos.

Romantic date</h4>London is not known as a place to flaneur, but trust me when you slow down it shows you secrets. In lockdown Brawn was one of my saviors turning into a makeshift shop and whilst I actually do miss that format, I’m so glad to see them back to full service. Famous for their Tiramisu, a little on the pricer end but my most Romantic suggestion.Top tip: take someone you really fancy here.

Baked goods and coffee date</h4>For when you're on a walking date, London has some great bakeries.&nbsp; My local is Jolene Redchurch but there’s a few dotted around east now, each with their own specific satellite speciality. I’m a bit of a Francophile and I adore their pastries, holding up to parisian standards (sinful comparison!)… Also try: For Baguette or turmeric bun go to Pavilion, or for madeleines and donuts head to St John.

I don't know, I'm not a scientist. It's tasty and I like a nice wine date. Renegade, Cave cuvée of top cuvee (watch out for that corkage fee if you stay in) Bottle Apostle, Funk and Noble Fine liquors are safe bets for groovy wines.&nbsp;

True local date&nbsp;</h4>The most entertaining and energetic staff, draws in lots of famous people and used to host the kray twins back in the day. This is the morning after the night before the date spot. Ask for a cockachino and if you don't get fried bread with your full english, they’ll call it a pussy-ole breakfast. It's fantastic.

Here is an evening walk date for an idea of sort of Victorian fun time in London. Do it like they did in 1860 — down by the river Thames. Unknown to most visitors to London and unmentioned in travel guides, there are the many landing areas along the shore of the river Thames. These muddy landings become visible at low evening tide. It’s the perfect location to hide behind some concrete and lift your skirts up for some illicit activities. This is a playlist that hopefully describes exactly what it’s like to fall in love in London. With a range of songs from mostly British Artists, most of the songs in some way relate to London, or for me, have a London connection. And some are just brilliant love songs.&nbsp;I’ve actually been listening to this playlist a lot recently and I can really hear it coming out in my songwriting. My best dates? They are all in galleries. You might think of my date's nudes in my phone galleries and specified albums, but not only that. Call me a nerd, an old-school romantic — but I love date nights and evenings when you two go to see an exhibition. London galleries, posh or unknown, can be the sweetest settings for a cool date night.&nbsp;Really, picture it. Conversation starters are hanging on the walls so you don’t have to worry about breaking the ice on a first date on your own. You can be deep and sincere, quirky or smart, you can just be funny and have a laugh. Or share any art history fun facts to impress your match. Even if you just memorised all the info from Wikipedia the night before. I won’t tell.Gallery exhibitions on London can be so private, even when they’re public. Organising a midweek date at a big exhibition can end up feeling like you’re getting lost together in a quiet maze. Whispers so you have to get close. Hand-holding to guide each other through the show. It’s much more sensitive than a busy restaurant or a bar. I always suggest first dates at galleries.&nbsp; London is always full of good shows. They are delicious. If you’re not familiar, Lubaina Himid is an artist best known for her contribution to the Black Arts Movement, when Black and Asian artists made work during the 60s and 70s that spoke to politics, identity, the white establishment and wider society. Lubaina also won the Turner Prize in 2017 — and I say all this so you can skip the Wikipedia study session, make notes! She studied theatre design back in the day and then made a smooth transition into the arts, bringing with her training that would see her turn the gallery into a lively, theatrical space. You can get a sense of that here. Her paintings are surreal but not in that dry, Dali, shock jock way. They contains deep stories, memories and dreams. Ah. After you’ve finished dreaming together, you can linger in the gift shop or head to a pub along the river. They’re all kind of quaint down there: Ye Olde London, Ye Olde Watling, The Royal Oak. The Founder’s Arms has a nice view of St Paul’s and the river. The Lord Nelson is a bit further towards Southwark, but it might be suitable because it’s where the art students mill about in the evening. A post-show debrief is vital, anyway. A drink, a packet of crisps to share. Stare into each other’s eyes across the table while you complain about the ticket prices — that’s love.Bankside, Holland Street, SE1 9TG. Open until October 2

It’s full of contemporary spaces, but as central as a spot as it is, every time I go into any of them they’re always completely empty. So, the perfect set-up for a date. Thomas Dane actually has two spots on the road, at number 3 and 11. This spring, there’s an exhibition by Amie Siegel on at the former. She’s big right now. A Chicago artist, her work can currently be seen anywhere from Brazil to Korea. Thomas Dane is showing ‘Bloodlines,’ a film that tracks how important cultural artefacts go between their owners’ stately homes and museum settings, and back again. It’s serious, reflective… and actually, it might be a smooth way to sus out who you’re on a date with. Honestly! These things are important. What do they think about money and class? I would want to know that from the get go. But it’s fine, I’m here to help. Their next exhibition is by artist, educator, writer and editor Adjoa Armah. Across her multi- layered practice, she is interested in thinking about archives, pedagogy, black ontology and spatial consciousness. This show follows a trip she took along the Ghanaian coast. It presents field recordings of the sea and birds alongside objects gathered along the way. One of the most interesting objectives of this show concerns how the subject is presented in an exhibition setting, and through the grammar of an exhibition. So, how do we take something to show it to other people in another place far away? And what does that mean? Does that have consequences? Does it matter who the audience is, and how different they are or how far away they are from the subject the artist is thinking about in the first place? These are big questions! And the answers might be there in the exhibition itself, or you might find them between yourselves in deep, studious conversation. Victoria Park is a short walk away, so maybe go there afterwards to let off some steam. Ground yourselves, walk along the edge of the lake, think about the intimate vastness of life! I think all of these categories make for good but different kinds of dates, but that final category can be especially transformative and, in my opinion, especially romantic too. So, we’re ending the list with two shows that invite you to enter strange, curated environments to get in your feelings. In the new show at Arebyte Gallery, Libby Heaney has created an 360 generative projection called Ent-. The artwork takes as its inspiration the central panel of the very famous painting The Garden of Earthly Delights by good ol’ Hieronymus Bosch. That might not be immediately clear to viewers (so make a note of it not to impress your date!) as the imagery is put through quantum code to manipulate and animate the paintings into live scenes. All in all, the work offers a 30 minute experience that is layered with voices that guide the audience through the artist’s vision of a quantum age. Big brain stuff. But it’s sound, light, space and colour. It’s immersion. It’s something to witness together. I love going to things like this and then walking out into the daylight afterwards, feeling like I’ve just been to another world. I think the experience can really loosen people up. It can make you feel wavy and warm, like you’re one drink in even if you aren’t. It’s a good, open state to be in when dates can feel just as floaty.
